World's fastest electric vehicle "KAZ"
Filmed on:2002-9-27、28
KAZ (Keio Advanced Zero-Emission Vehicle) is a multi-purpose electric vehicle developed by JST (Japan Science and Technology Corporation) and Keio University. KAZ is a high-performance and highly functional vehicle compared with a conventional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle, thanks to the development of new component technologies and system technologies. KAZ is not a converted ICE vehicle, but has been designed from the ground up, enabling the design of the body to be very flexible.
Once charged using a lithium-ion battery, KAZ is able to run for about 300km. It is also the world's fastest electric vehicle with a top speed of 311km/h. KAZ, which has already attracted considerable attention, will be displayed at the Seoul motor show in November, then in Detroit in January 2003.
