Profiles of New Koizumi Cabinet Members

Following the resignation of the Mori Cabinet, Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, President of the Liberal Democratic Party, was appointed on April 26 the 87th Prime Minister of Japan and formed a new Cabinet, a coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party, the New Komeito and the New Conservative Party. Incumbent Cabinet members Chikara Sakaguchi, Takeo Hiranuma, Chikage Ogi, Toranosuke Katayama, Yasuo Fukuda, Hakuo Yanagisawa and Yoriko Kawaguchi will serve in the new Koizumi Cabinet.
