Profiles of New Mori Cabinet Members
December 5, 2000
Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori reshuffled his Cabinet on December 5, 2000, in time for the consolidation of the 22 existing ministries and agencies into one Cabinet Office, 10 ministries, one agency and one commission, which will take place in January 2001. The new Cabinet, like the old, is a coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party, the New Komeito and the New Conservative Party. Existing Cabinet members Yohei Kono, Kiichi Miyazawa, Takeo Hiranuma, Chikage Ogi, Yoriko Kawaguchi and Yasuo Fukuda will serve in the reshuffled second Mori Cabinet. The profiles of all the members of this Cabinet follow. The titles of the Cabinet members are those that will be used after the consolidation.
