Date: January 31,2005
Time: 15:00 - 16:30

The Japanese society of today is beset with unavoidable issues such as the aging population combined with the diminishing number of children, the upcoming retirement of baby boomers now in their late fifties and its effect on Japanese labor force, and the pension and social security system. As a labor economist, Professor Atsushi Seike of Keio University has been suggesting positive measures to cope with these, including a change in companies' age limitation in hiring and mandatory retirement age, employment of more human resources and expanded working years. Professor Seike will go into greater detail as he shares his expertise in the upcoming briefing.
